Well platinum has a large manual covering every aspect of the game, and a actual jewel case, while diamond has a paper case with a dvd in it, and nothing else. The advantage of diamond, of course, is the kingmaker compilation, but platinum has nicer packaging and the extensive manual, which to me seemed more like a strategy guide.
