Skyrim astrid who should i kill

Cicero is one of the best companions you can get in Skyrim for a plethora of reasons. Cicero is found lying on the ground injured. It should be noted that if Cicero is spared in this quest he will become an available follower for the Dragonborn. If you drop the statue before Vittoria is on the balcony, it will alert the guards, and you will have to kill her using your weapons, which will gain you a bounty.

If the Dragonborn chose to spare his life, Cicero is found upon exiting the Dawnstar Sanctuary after the quest where he becomes a possible follower. If he is spared, he becomes essential again, making him unable to be killed. Cicero will disappear after Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! It is impossible to get Shadowmere or Cicero after that.

If you kill Astrid, you get a quest that involves destroying the rest of the Dark Brotherhood. If you kill any or all of the contracts, you will get a quest to join the Dark Brotherhood. By right and ancient nord custom, you could also do trial by combat for the position. Especially with the fact he could present the ancient crown of the high king, which would grant him the title of high king as right of possession. The longer the sentence, the more skills that will be affected.

The second, to defeat her. The quest typically begins after the Dragonborn has received the Mysterious Note from the courier and sleeps in a bed, however, sleeping in a bed even before receiving the note may trigger it. The Dragonborn will awake in an abandoned shack , located in the marshes north of Morthal.

A Dark Brotherhood assassin named Astrid will speak to them. She reveals that the Dark Brotherhood is aware of their murderous deed and is pleased that Grelod is dead, but since the Aretino child performed the Black Sacrament, they demand that a debt be paid for the kill that was stolen from them. Astrid has brought three other people to the shack where the Dragonborn awoke.

Fultheim the Fearless , Alea Quintus , and Vasha are tied up and wearing execution hoods , but are able to answer questions. Astrid tells the Dragonborn that there is a contract out on one of their lives, and the Dragonborn must figure out whom to kill. Killing any one of them, or any two, or all of them; will please Astrid, who will unlock the shack, and direct the Dragonborn to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. The Dragonborn must now go to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary near Falkreath , where speaking with Astrid completes the quest, and the next quest, " Sanctuary ," begins.

Note that entering the sanctuary before starting Delayed Burial will fail that quest. To open the locked door, the key to the shack must be looted from Astrid. It is also possible, before leaving, to untie and free all the captives. However, they can also be killed and the player will not be charged with murder. Each kill or combination of kills evokes a different response from Astrid upon speaking to her afterwards. You are now able to set the captives free and instructed to inform a guard of Astrid's death.

You can literally walk up to any guard and tell them of Astrid's death. Solitude may be the best destination to quick-travel to though, seeing as it is nearest the shack. Either way you will still be able to get into the sanctuary and claim the Stone of Barenziah, the Word of Power Marked for Death , and a few skill books.

With Friends Like These Last Edited: 29 Aug am. Was this guide helpful? Is there any better option in terms of loot and story? I kinda have a good guy persona going and want to keep it but if the joining is a lot better then I will just go with that.

Any opinions? BrockNRolla said:. In my opinion as a good guy the Dark Brotherhood quest-line is kind of impossible to justify. The thieves guild I was able to kind of pseudo explain to myself, via a combination of robin hood esque behavior and not doing any of the framing quest.

Dark Brotherhood is just pretty much irreconcilable. Personally I was much happier with choosing the destroy option and saving the quest-line for an alternate more thematically appropriate character.

BelligerentEngine said:. Boy, I really don't remember that being an option. Can you be a bit more specific about where you get that mission? I'm very curious. It's not a mission, when you wake up in the hut she says, "you've got to kill someone to get out of here" or something. Which gives you the opportunity to intuit that maybe you can kill her. Doing so results in her kinda doing some weird shadow step attacking thing but eventually when you kill her she whispers, "well done".
